Barbarians are at the gates! Fur-cloaked figures, armed with fury and blades of steel, muscles sculpted in the icy winds of Vinland, are gathering at the city walls. Their mission: pillage, plunder and rule in the name of heavy metal.

If you haven’t lost both your ears in battle in the last few years you are most probably aware of Eternal Champion as one of the leading lights of current US epic heavy metal, with two albums under their belt channelling the spirit of old Savatage, Manilla Road and classic sword & sorcery literature. Whether you’re powerlifting or slaying polar bears in the tundra, this band is exactly what you might want to have as soundtrack on your phone.

Sumerlands also recently delivered album number two, which saw Brendan Radigan of Magic Circle and Pagan Altar fame taking over vocal duties and the band moving from their doomy origins in a leaner and catchier version of themselves – imagine Jake E. Lee era-Ozzy with a touch of Rainbow and you’ll get very close to how „Dreamkiller“ sound like.

Both bands are on top of their game and made themselves quite scarce on European soil so far, so this is a perfect chance to come out and finally test that Cimmerian blade in front of the stage. Crom!
